For the last couple of days,I see the mercury level dropping down in early mornings. It was such a hot summer and I can't believe it is almost Fall now ! Even now the maximum day time temperature is in 80s,but it is no longer Summer here in Colorado.
Kids are back in school. My older one is in middle school this year and the transition seems to be affecting her mom rather than herself ! Oh boy ! She was such a small kid till yesterday and I am still trying to digest the fact that she is in 6th grade now. Kids grow up faster than weeds, don't they ? My little one will be in elementary next year. (He is already excited about this year's pre-kindergarten)
I tried to cook and take pictures in between all these transitions in the house and 2 sick people to be taken care of,but I failed ! I cooked, I took pictures, but they didn't turn out good. I can't blame anything except myself, it's been a long time since I took pictures of food.So I guess this was a good practice and hopefully next week I will be able to take some decent pictures.I better do something, since this is the last post in my drafts,I know
This is a favorite smoothie, especially during the hot days in summer and recently I started adding flax meal in this. When you want a breakfast on go, this is a wonderful option.Another great choice is this mixed berry smoothie with oats, which can be easily converted to vegan as well.
Wish you all a great week end ! Enjoy the last few days of warmth and sunshine !
Ingredients:
Berries of your choice, washed and hulled- 1 cup (fresh or frozen)
Non-fat plain yogurt- 1 1/2 cup
Flax meal- 2 tsp
Ice Cubes
Honey- to taste
Method:
1.Blend the berries and yogurt with ice cubes in a blender.
2.Pour honey and add flax meal and blend until everything is mixed well.
3.Serve immediately.
Notes:
1.I love adding bananas to this.
2.Usually I mix blackberries, blueberries and strawberries for making this. But you could use any berries, as I've mentioned.
